Start with a Cloud Workspace

A Cloud Workspace is the shared home for Cloud Projects and their Cloud Brains. Use it when knowledge needs to be available in the browser, shared with collaborators, or connected directly to an MCP client.

Before you start

  • Sign in with your MindMux account.
  • Your Workspace needs a plan that includes the Cloud capability you want to use. The product shows current limits and billing details in Workspace settings.
  • Decide whether you are creating new Cloud knowledge or bringing an existing local project to the cloud.

Create a Workspace and Project

  1. Open the MindMux Cloud app and create or select a Workspace.
  2. Create a Project inside that Workspace.
  3. Give the Project a clear name and, when useful, a short description.

Each Cloud Project has one attached Cloud Brain. The Project is the collaboration and navigation boundary; the Brain is the structured knowledge inside it.

Add your first knowledge

Open the Project and create a Page, or open one of the project-level root pages when you need an overview. Root pages use a fixed set of roles: project background, system architecture, key flows, feature mindmap, tech stack, and roadmap. They are created when needed rather than as empty files you must fill in up front.

For a Page, add a title, category, tags, and the current conclusion. Keep its timeline for evidence, decisions, and reversals that explain how that conclusion changed.

Invite collaborators

Workspace owners and admins can invite people and assign a role. Project visibility can be available to all Workspace members or restricted to selected members. Membership and Project visibility answer different questions:

  • Workspace membership controls who can enter the shared space.
  • Project visibility controls which members can open a particular Project.

Use a small, explicit Project audience for sensitive work rather than sharing a broad Workspace by default.

Choose how to work with the Brain

You can use the same Cloud Brain in three ways:

  • Cloud app — browse, edit, link Pages, and review history in the browser.
  • Desktop app — connect or migrate a local project when you want desktop workflows and filesystem access.
  • MCP client — let a compatible agent read and write the Cloud Brain through OAuth. See Connect a Cloud Brain with MCP.

The Cloud Brain is selected explicitly. MindMux does not infer it from a repository or folder name.
